My Christmas in many lands in peace and war: autobiographical notes prepared by J. T. Massey ca. 1973 recalling life in Footscray. Describes childhood in West Footscray, Christmas festivities, country holidays, involvement with the Anglican Church, early manhood in Elsternwick and Caulfield East, war experiences serving in a non-combatant role with the Y.M.C.A. in France, Belgium and England, post-war employment with the Y.M.C.A. in Melbourne and Adelaide, service with the Y.M.C.A. in England and the Middle East during World War II, and life after WWII. Also two photographs of house in Clive Street, West Footscray depicting Massey family standing in front of house, ca. 1889, 1891. Also "Sentimental return to war locations": memoirs of service abroad during both world wars. Describes impressions of England, France, Belgium and the Middle East. Also "The history of St George's West Footscray" Written ca. 1941 author unknown.

J. T. Massey was the National General Secretary of the Y.M.C.A. His efforts during 1949 and 1950 were devoted to the formation of the Good Neighbour Councils (or New Settlers Leagues). He was Commonwealth Coordinator of the Good Neighbour Movement, which gave assistance to migrants at a personal level. The Good Neighbour Council of the A.C.T. was dissolved in 1980.
